April Wrap-Up

Hello everyone! I’m Marrill, and this post is all about what I read in April!

I had a pretty good reading month: five books in total, which is better than my usual two. Let me know what you think of these books in the comments ↓

Morrighan (The Remnant Chronicles, #0.5)

★★★★1/2

Morrighan is a companion novella to the series The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson. I was so excited when I found out that there was a novella in the first place. I love this series, and I enjoyed this book fully!

Kissed by an Angel/The Power of Love/Soulmates (Kissed by an Angel, #1-3)

★★★1/2

A friend of mine lent me this book, and it was one of the more enjoyable paranormal books that I’ve ever read. There was a really cool mystery aspect that I liked, and I plan to finish the series eventually.

A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)

★★★

I feel like I’m the last one to read this book…

I decided to pick it up before the release of ACOWAR, the last book in the series. It was good, but it pales in comparison to the second book. If you didn’t like this book, definitely give the second one a good shot. It’ll be worth it.

Daughter of the Pirate King (Daughter of the Pirate King, #1)

★★★★

This book was in the April Owlcrate box, and I couldn’t have been happier to get it! It was pretty good pirate read, and I’ll definitely be picking up the second one.

That said, this is a debut book, and I did notice a few debut problems, but hopefully those will be fixed in book two.

★★★★

In anticipation for the movie, I finally decided to pick this book up.

I spiritually connected with the main character (Maddy) and I found that this was one contemporary that I didn’t hate, which, to be honest, is pretty rare. It had a believable ending, and I will definitely read more Nicola Yoon in the future.

I’m so excited for the movie!

That’s it! What did you read in April?
