Reading Wrap-Up | October 2017

Happy November Bibliophiles!

Now, I was on vacation for the first two weeks of October, so maybe that’s why I failed at reading this month…but I read two books. Two books. And one that I’m going to count because I’m currently reading it.

So let’s get this miserable wrap-up over with started!

516zRVQj44L._SX332_BO1,204,203,200_Warcross – Marie Lu

This novel is a futuristic thriller, and it’s all about this virtual game called Warcross. Warcross is basically D&D mixed with video games and capture the flag, and it’s SO much fun!

I really enjoyed it – the thrill definitely came through, and the characters were amazing!

61578hx4rKL._SX326_BO1,204,203,200_Secrets in the Ice – Atlanta Bushnell

The second book in The Fire Song Chronicles…and I LOVED it! I really liked the first book, but I did notice some problems, but this second book blew me away!

I try to be more critical and particular with indie books, so that I can help the author make them as perfect as can be, but I couldn’t fault this book if I tried…and, I’ve tried. (Hamilton references!)

30969741I’ve been looking forward to An Enchantment of Ravens for a while now, and I’m liking it so far. I don’t know for certain how I feel about the beginning, but I’m not sure there’s something wrong with it 🤔

But the cover is gorgeous, for sure! It’s iridescent, and there’s way less pages than I thought there would be. So I’m guessing it’s a standalone. Maybe.

Anyway, as an overall, I think this will be a good book. But I’m waiting for a plot twist…🙄

What did you read in October?
