Down the TBR Hole #5 \\ (51-61)

Hello Book Ravens!

Originally I had planned to talk about Black Panther – and why I’m obsessed with it – but then Thursday came…and for whatever reason, I really didn’t feel like writing it.

So that’s turned into the plan for next week, and instead, I’ll do another Down the TBR Hole.

Previously on Down the TBR Hole…

This tag was created by Lost in a Story – basically it helps you go through your TBR, and also gives you blog post ideas! I enjoyed reading it on Jess’s blog, so I figured I’d give it a go.

So as I go through I’ll talk about the books, why I added them to my GoodReads TBR, and decide whether to keep them or remove them.

Batman: Nightwalker – Marie Lu

Batman: Nightwalker (DC Icons, #2)

I’ve heard mixed things about this book, but I really love Marie Lu, So I’m willing to give it a shot (even though, admittedly, Batman is one of my least-favorite superheroes).

Verdict: Keep

Wonder Woman: Warbringer – Leigh Bardugo

Wonder Woman: Warbringer (DC Icons, #1)

I actually have this one on my shelf, and I really like Leigh Bardugo. Plus it seems like it’d have Greek Mythology references, which you know I’m here for.

So this one I’m likely to get to soon.

Verdict: Keep

Catwoman: Soulstealer – Sarah J. Maas

Catwoman: Soulstealer (DC Icons, #3)

Can you see a theme yet?

Catwoman seems like it could be amazing – especially because it has Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, and that could be a pretty badass team.

But I’m unsure whether Maas’, while a talented writer, will be able to pull this off. But I’m still intrigued.

Verdict: Keep

Superman – Matt de la Pena

Blank 133x176

Last Superhero one, I promise! If I end up not liking or not finishing the other books, then I’m going to forget about this one.

I’ve never read a book by Matt de la Pena, but I do really like Superman (definitely one of my favorite DC characters) so I’m going to wait until closer to the release date to be sure.
Verdict: Keep

The World of Throne of Glass – Sarah J. Maas

Blank 133x176

Ehhhh…I love when authors have books talking about their worlds, but I still haven’t read Heir of Fire, and I don’t plan to.

Verdict: Remove

Spellslinger – Sebastien de Castell

Spellslinger (Spellslinger, #1)

I love books like this with magicians and magic – and a tournament, which is right up my alley?? – but I added this book early last year, and I haven’t thought about it since.

And I will probably forget about it again. So…

Verdict: Remove

Lucky in Love – Kasie West

Lucky in Love

I don’t read contemporary often, but I like how easy it is to read West’s books. But this specific book, I’m not too interested in.

Verdict: Remove

By Your Side – Kasie West

By Your Side

I’m keeping this one for the above reasons, and also Tyr Carter read and enjoyed this one.

And if Tyr likes it, I should probably try it 👍

Verdict: Keep

Just A Few Inches – Tara St. Pierre

Just a Few Inches

This one is interesting because it seems fun and also I love when a character learns self-confidence\body acceptance…but it also seems like it’s will 100% have tropes that I hate.

I’m just not that interested.

Verdict: Remove

Fallen Grace – Katie Roman

Fallen Grace

This one sounds cool…but the cover is throwing me off and I’m not interested enough to ever pick it up.

Verdict: Remove

divier.blacksmoke

Original TBR: 177

Book Removed: 5

Books Kept: 5

Total: 173

Success? Yes
